La Lomita: A California Romantica Ranch

La Lomita Ranch can be found in the Central California wine region, near San Luis Obispo. It’s a beautiful bed & breakfast and wedding venue nestled between countless vineyards and hills. The location in the Edna valley gives guests the option to relax on the grounds at their own bespoke winery or venture out to tour the other varietals offered nearby.

The beautiful ranch was originally a farm for the world-renowned Princess Marieta and Prince Zourab of Mallorca. Settling into Islay Hill, they gained prestigious international reputation for their breeding of Arabian horses. The acclaim grew with time as the Princess Marieta decided to use the influence of the Spanish Colonial and Californian West in the design of the home. Now you can find each room custom curated to honor all the pieces of the heritage that grew here. Many couples flock to the ranch for weddings and elegant events, and travelers passing through all find themselves in awe at the beauty exuded in the craftsmanship of ‘the Little Hill’.

I was able to stay in 2023 during my Highway 1 road-trip from Santa Monica to Cambria. Waking up to the sun shining on the pond and the horses roaming the hillside was reminiscent of a western film from days past. I could happily find my way back here for another stay sometime soon in the future.
